About Time (2013)
“About time” is a romantic comedy-drama about the love of Tim (Domhnall Gleeson) and Mary (Rachel McAdams). Tim, a young man with the special ability to time travel who tries to change his past in order to improve his future and he has attracted mary at first sight. Thanks to this special ability, he prevents mary from meeting another man, and finally, he gets the chance of marrying Mary.
This film is not only the love story of two main characters but also the deeper message. Tim, a clumsy guy, gradually becomes a person with high responsibility to his family. He uses his special ability to help his relatives, spend time with his family and tell his relatives all words that he has not said yet. This film shows many values in life because in this life, happiness is not in the past or an unpredictable future, it is in the present moment. This is a romantic drama based on the novel of the same name by Hiro Arakawa. Shokubutsu Zukan tells about a simple but happy love of Sayaka (Mitsuki Takahata) and Itsuki (Takanori Iwata). Sayaka works for housing consultancy company, but she works and cooks badly. She often eats outside. one night, she looks at Itsuki faints in front of her house. When he regains consciousness, he asks to stay at her house for a half of year and she agrees.
Isuki teaches Sayaka how to use herbs and wild plants in the cooking process. Gradually, they love each other. however, Itsuki suddenly disappeared after Sayaka’s birthday, this makes her feel extremely bored. Until one day, she receives a parcel from Itsuki- an encyclopedia of plants and they live together. The film ends with the happy image of this couple: Itsuki is cooking in the kitchen and waiting for Sayaka.
Watching this film, the audiences can enjoy a space with full of green grass, flowers and a peaceful life in the harmony with nature. The warm love of Sayaka and Itsuki is the dream of many people. We do not need a lavish life, a peaceful and simple life is happy enough.
