Because of ten kilometers of walking at high altitude 4.500 m to WuSe lake, many visitors have to breathe with the oxygen tank or lie down on the road. This is a problem when they have a Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou valley itinerary in China.

Exploring Jiuzhaigou valley, Huanglong in China
Jiuzhaigou – The heaven on earth
The formation of Jiuzhaigou comes from the limestone mountains with sedimentary rocks. It includes hundreds of lakes and about 100 large and small waterfalls. All of them are extremely beautiful.
The name “Jiuzhai” comes from the number of villages of the Tibetans (Sichuan Province) here (nine villages). The total area of the conservation area is about 60.000 ha. It locates at about 2,500 meters above sea level. Especially, this conservation area includes three valleys which create Y-shape: Rizegou, Zechagou, Shuzheng Gou.
Chinese people often call Jiuzhaigou as “The heaven on earth”. UNESCO has recognized this biosphere reserve since 1992.
There are many snow-covered mountains around Jiuzhaigou, which is called XueShan.
Qiuzheng lake, one of the first attractions when you come to Jiuzhaigou.
There are many stones, bricks on the roads in Jiuzhaigou after the earthquake in August 2017.
Jiuzhaigou closed since the earthquake (8/2017). On March 8th, the Chinese government allowed this famous resorts to do business again. However, both domestic and international tourists can only visit some parts of Jiuzhaigou. They are ChangHai, JinHai, WuSe and QiuZheng lakes.
Mr. Yang Zhe Qiang is the head of the Chinese tourism survey team. He said that when you come to Jiuzhaigou in October or November, you will see a more beautiful Jiuzhaigou. Because it not only has a blue water lake but also has the yellow, red color of leaves on the mountainsides.
Jin Hai lake
In Jinhai lake, there are white clouds hovering in the mountains at 3.000-4.5000 high attitude. If you look them in the surface of the lake, it becomes dark blue color. This is very wonderful for the girls to take photos. There are many more beautiful places. However, it is so regrettable that you only can sit in the car and use some devices to take photos.
Water in the lakes in Jiuzhaigou is blue that is similar to the color of seawater. However, this color is darker. This color is created by the formation of special minerals. Therefore, whether the weather is sunny or rainy, the water surface “paradise on the earth” has still not changed.
Changhai lake is a crescent-shaped, largest and deepest lake in this landscape. Its depth is 103m and its length is about 7.5 km. Because of the silhouette in the afternoon, the photos of this lake taken in the afternoon are faded. In addition, the white snow mountains create a colorful picture.
Unlikely with Changhai lake, Wuse lake is not a colorful lake and water is depleted since the earthquake (8/2017). According to legends, Semo, Tibetan goddess, used water of this lake to wash her face. Therefore, her cosmetics stored in this lake forever.
Walking 7km in lack of air condition in Huanglong
Huanglong is not the destination in our plan. However, they advertised that Huanglong is very beautiful. Therefore, we decided to take more than half a day to discover Huanglong.
From Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong takes about 100km by zigzag mountain roads. When we arrived, we took 5 minutes to go to a mountain by cable. After that, we walked to Wuse lake. Wuse lake is the most wonderful destination on our trip.
Firstly, you move by cable to the mountain peak. Then you walk 3km to Wuse lake- Huanglong locates behind the temple.
Wuse lake with mineral deposits which can be cleared. In addition, there is the reflection of mountains and forests in the water. Therefore, it appears multicolor, from green, blue, yellow to greenish-blue color.
UNESCO recognized Wuse lake as a World Heritage treasure by a narrow valley with many colorful lakes. Wuse lake-Huanglong is a large natural lake, with mineral deposits which can be cleared. In addition, there is the reflection of mountains and forests in the water. Therefore, appears multicolor, from green, blue, yellow to greenish-blue color. There is a temple next to the lake. In here you will fell that you are going to climb to the top of the white snow-covered mountain.
The destination is Wuse lake which locates at the foot of Xuesan mountain. To come back, you can go by car or cable. However, you have to walk 3km to buy the ticket.
Many young people and elderly people feel tired because of lack of oxygen. If you do not wear warm enough, you can be shocked or got cold at 4000m high attitude.
The way to go to “the heaven on earth”
To arrive in Jiuzhaigou, Vietnamese tourists have to use Vietnam Airlines flights from Hanoi to Chengdu for nearly two hours. Chengdu is far Hanoi more than 1000km. If you live in Saigon, you have to go to NoiBai airport and fly to Chengdu.
When you arrive in Chengdu, you continue to travel more than 400 km by 45-seats car. It takes 8-10 hours depending on the speed to go to the hotel, which is nearest to Jiuzhaigou park.
As part of the tourism growth promotion program, the Chinese government has begun to build 350km/h high-speed rail linking Lanzhou to Chengdu. Its length is 463km, through Jiuzhaigou. After finishing, this project contributed to shortening the time from 21 hours ( road) to 4 hours (railway). Especially, it only takes about 1 hour to go from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou.
Along the road from Chengdu to Jiuzhuang, there are many tunnels across the mountain. The longest tunnel up to 15 km.
Hotels to overnight stay when you go from Jiuzhaigou to Chengdu. Due to the narrow, dark roads, cars are not allowed to move in the evening.
According to the statistics of China tourism industry, before August 2017, every day, Jiuzhaigou welcomes more than 20.000 visitors. In addition, of which 80% are Chinese, 20% are international tourists. The earthquake that occurred 9 months ago caused some effects on Jiuzhaigou. Since March 2018, it has also restricted to about 2,000 people per day.
